We caught a lucky break yesterday and our things were delivered a day early! So not only did we have our closing yesterday, but we also received all our stuff -- how two people and one small child have accumulated so much stuff is beyond me - we've been working hard to unpack and yet it seems like we're making little progress (Jeannie, we need your professional guidance!). However, it's Day Two, and Chris and I are feeling very good about our decision -- this is a great house. We have had good and bad surprises along the way. Bad surprises: somehow we missed the fact that our washer and dryer weren't part of the sale, and we had to buy new ones yesterday; our queen-sized boxspring does not fit upstairs and so we had to order a new one. Good surprises: Charlie's room is MUCH bigger than we remembered; the back porch is safe for both Charlie and Zelly to play on unattended; we met some neighbors and they seem very nice (Max, Hillary, baby Sam who is 5 months old); there's a park with a good toddler playground less than two blocks away; and some spring flowers are starting to sprout in the front yard.
Today the weather went from 60 degrees to 40 or so as evidenced by the difference in dress in each of these photos of Charlie.
