West Coast / Midwest Family Reunion

Last weekend (yes, we're behind - blame it on an inability to do anything after the sun goes down at 4:30...how many days until Spring?) we had the great fun of hosting two of our West Coast peeps - Aunt Mary Ann and Cousin Emma who came to town for a baby shower / new baby meeting. To say that Charlie and Emma hit it off is putting it mildly. They had such a wonderful weekend playing, talking, and hanging out together. Charlie cried real tears of longing after Emma left on Sunday night. I was sad for her, but also so happy that she loves her extended family so much. Charlie is already counting down the days until she'll see Emma again.
Emma carried Charlie all around the house, up and down the stairs, making it hard for me to argue that she's too heavy for me to lug around.Saturday night we were joined by cousins John and Meghan Connolly.
Post-dinner Rock-N-Roll
Being a California girl, snow is pretty novel for Emma. She saw her very first snowfall on Friday (her birthday - we claimed the falling snow as her birthday present), and on Sunday, she and Charlie headed out to make Emma's first snowman. Alas, the snow was powdery and would not pack so the girls made a snow mound calling it their melted snowman.
