ABCs

Charlie's newest obsession? Letters. Writing them; reading them; asking about them; finding examples of them in nature -- Charlie sees letters everywhere and is fascinated by them. She and I will have a conversation on the train in the morning, and then she asks if we can write the words we talked about when we get home in the evening. And remembers to ask to do it 8 hours later. Charlie has recognized her name for a long time (and can write it too -- sometimes spelling it on her own, sometimes needing some help with the spelling, sometimes writing it forward, sometimes backwards [she's a lefty, and her teacher says it's normal for a lefty to write both directions]), but now she is also recognizing other words: exit, go, zoo, otto (from a book), mommy, daddy.

Here Charlie is playing with an alphabet computer she has and showing her joy at finishing all the levels on "raining letters". She's also modeling her new bathing suit and sun shirt.

And a snuggle for Zelly. Oh, to know what that cat really thinks...
