Sophia's Birthday and Heywood BBQ

Sophia is Charlie's friend from her Friday afternoon ballet class. The four girls pictured here -- left to right: Maddie, Sophia, Hayden, and Charlie -- were the only four who took the class from September through June.
After seeing each other once a week for nine months, the girls got pretty tight, but it's been a month or more since we last saw them. Charlie was incredibly shy at the Hello Kitty-themed tea party, but on the way home she told me that she wished she could have stayed at Sophia's house all day, so a good time was had even it wasn't completely obvious.

Back at home, in her own element, the smiles came out when talking about the party.
At four and a half months, Samantha is definitely in an oral fixation stage -- she gnawed on my hand, my dress, and Ben's hair!In the beginning, I thought it would be hard to tell Elliot and Samantha's baby pictures apart, but I don't think so. While Samantha is long and lean like her sister was, she's also getting some of those chubby baby cheeks that Elliot never had.
Each time they see each other, Charlie and Elliot find each other a bit more interesting. They had some moments together this weekend...some sweet, some playful, and others resulting in Charlie covered in red marker! No one saw it happen, but all the adults found it pretty fun that Elliot decided to decorate Charlie and that Charlie let her.
