Eight days: seven days of swimming & one day of art appreciation

The last time I spent so much time at the pool, I was thirteen and swimming at the Woodstock City Pool. Charlie is obsessed with the pool, and her new excellent swimming skills.

Yesterday, however, we took a break from the sun and swim for a trip through Millennium Park to check out the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute. We were sidelined by an amazing kids/family space in the museum that was free and so never actually made it into the museum. The gardens, architecture, and view were art enough for the day.

First stop, the "Bean":

We thought of Chris slaving away at work when viewing his building in the distance.
Bee and flowers in the Lurie Garden.
View of the Frank Gehry-designed Pritzker Pavilion and Lurie Garden as viewed from the Modern Wing's sculpture garden.
How tall is Charlie? The giant ruler in the family area of the museum answered the question.
Wait! Make that eight days of swimming!
[Charlie, if you ever see this someday, please don't be mad. It was just too cute to not share. Even though you've been wearing 70 sunblock, you've spent so much time in your bathing suit that you have cute little brown tan lines. And, you can thank me later for airbrushing out your butt crack.]
